Interstitial CYSTITIS

Interstitial cystitis is a painful inflammatory bladder condition of unknown cause. It is not due to a urinary infection and does not resolve with antibiotics. The primary symptom is pain which drives the need to void often with small volumes. Treatment focuses on resolving bladder inflammation and treating ulcers. Effective treatments include cauterisation of ulcers and instillations into the bladder to knock out inflammatory cells
